I am Joseph Hallett. I am an Award-winning author and a member of the Horror Writers Association. I write Horror, science fiction, and urban fantasy. I live in the Pacific Northwest. I have been dabbling in writing most of my life but have always seen it as a side quest. Creatively, I saw myself as an artist, working with pen and pencil, mixed media drawing, and painting. I had started getting serious about writing about 4 years ago. I had written a few things here and there but nothing to get excited about. I wrote a short story, “Alone,” and submitted it to a podcast that had been having a Halloween short horror story contest. “Alone” came in first place, and that is when I thought that I might actually have a decent chance at storytelling.
I had an idea for a wild story that evolved into “Emergence Collective.” However, that story took a bit of coaxing. It took a long time to get it out. since I was new to writing in general, and I wrote myself into a corner and, frustrated, put it down for a few years.
One day, out of the blue, I figured out my solution to the plot hole I was stuck in and got serious. That’s when the words started to flow. As it turns out, I found that I really enjoy storytelling and got “Emergence Collective” published in 2021
That’s where I started, but that’s not where I am ending. Now, I have so many ideas that I can’t wait to share with you. I hope you stick around an watch my crazy ideas come to life!
